Fishing Derby - January 14, 2012
On Saturday January 14th, 2012 The Kelly Lake Sportsman's Club held their annual Ice Fishing Derby.  The Grand Prize Drawing was a brand new 2011 Kubota RTV 500 won by Phyllis Donlevy.  The value of this sporty machine is $11,000. 

Other prizes listed on the tickets were a Strike Master Ice Auger, value $400 donated by the Lee Lake Bar. Handmade Iverson Snowshoes, value $350 donated by Bob White Trout & Bait.  Fishing Rod assortment, value $350 donated by Oconto County Sportsman's Alliance.  Twelve gauge H&R Pump Shotgun, value $225 donated by Romy's Holiday Inn.  Two $100 savings bonds donated by Peshtigo National Bank.  Pontoon Rental, value $150 donated by Yancy Powersports.  Hunting package, value $100 donated by Wescott Lake Tavern.  $100 Cash donated by Associated Bank.  Tickets to Porterfield Country Music Festival with parking June 2012 donated by Joe's Recycling.

2012 Club Membership
The 2012 Club membership tickets are now available at VIZ’s Kelly Lake Bar, Sharper Image Salon, the Kelly Lake Kwik Stop, or on the website via PayPal. Cost is $10 per year, Seniors 65 and over and Children 16 and younger are $5.

Tickets will also be on sale at the ice fishing derby.

Memorial Brick Program
The club is selling memorial bricks as a source of revenue for the wheelchair accessible fishing dock upkeep. These bricks can be engraved as a memorial to a family members, as a gift to a friend, or by a business wishing to be a sponsor. The bricks will be installed in a beautiful patio setting along with a wood bench overlooking the dock on Kelly Lake. They make great gifts for any occasion, are a nice memorial, and bring great satisfaction knowing you are helping preserve the dock.

Wheelchair Accessible Fishing Dock
The Kelly Lake Sportsman's Club has been working on a community project to better Kelly Lake.  A Wheelchair Accessible Fishing Dock has been installed and is now be open to the public.  A public dedication took place on Sunday August 22nd.  The site is located on North Kelly Lake Road at Lake Access # 6.

Numerous donations were given to support this project:

Credit Union, Lena Lions Club, Trout Unlimited, Gary Vizelka & Family, Oconto Lions Club, Oconto County AARP Chapter, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Knights of Columbus Lena, The Joseph Sr. & Katherine Blazek Family, Bernie & Denise Madison, Oconto County Sportsman's Alliance, Suring Sportsman's Club, The Holiday Inn Roman Wiegele, Oconto Electric Coop Community Change Program,  Earl Macha Family, The Kenneth Soukup Family, Jay & Barbara Nick, Magnin Landscape, and Schlaefer-Martin Memorials-Rick Brumlic. Many man hours have been volunteered by the Kelly Lake Sportsman Club members and the Town of Brazeau.

We are very proud that this immense project has now become a reality.  This dock will insure anyone wishing to fish or enjoy the lakes resources and beauty, may do so comfortably regardless of any handicap or disability they may endure.

Chicken Tips & Toys Banquet - March 26, 2012
Kelly Lake Sportsman's Club presented the 7th annual Chicken - Tips & Toys Banquet.  The banquet was held Monday, March 28, 2011 at Romy's Holiday Inn - Kelly Lake.

The banquet was a great success and will be held again next year on March 26, 2012.  Mark you calendars.
Earth Day Clean Up - April 30, 2011
Help out the great outdoors! We always have a lot of left over winter debris around the lake. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please join in and volunteer your morning on Saturday April 24th. We will start at 10:00 am at the old Round Roof Parking Lot. We will walk the road cleaning the ditches and lake landings around the entire lake. The club will provide the garbage bags and disposal of the garbage.Once we have completed the task, lunch and refreshments will be served to all who join in. It really is a fun morning and it’s a great way to “GO GREEN” around Kelly Lake. Please join us!

Meet at the Kelly Lake Kwik Stop at 10:AM on April 30th.  Lunch provided after.  Please Help!

2011 Annual Helping Hands Day
The Kelly Lake Sportsman’s Club held their 19th annual Helping Hands Day on June 18th. Invitations went out to Oconto Counties physically or mentally challenged citizens. Forty one clients and their caregivers attended the Western theme party. Trout fishing, horse & wagon rides, games, music, and a picnic lunch filled the day.

Sponsors of the event were The Maple Syrup Harvest Festival, Dr Ronald Ristow, Sharper Image Salon Jamie Harvey, Earl & Nancy Macha the Kelly Lake Kwik Stop, Saputo Cheese Lena, Dean Distributors, Vorpahl’s Business Services, Richard Rabas, Johnathan Hernandez, Alice Wolske, Roger Kesler & Family, Suring Fire Department, Oconto Falls Area Ambulance, Bob White Trout & Bait, and Pensaukee Portables. Ladies of the club baked and supplied the goodies.

Thank you to all who participated in this fun day for those in need.

Ladies Treasures and Pleasures Banquet - October 10, 2011
The 2nd Annual Ladies Pleasures and Treasures Banquet was held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Romy's Holiday Inn.  Doors opened at 5:00 PM --  Dinner was at 7:00 PM.  Dinner Ticket Price was $30.

Those bringing a basket (any theme) to be raffled off received $20 in Bait Bucks to be used on other raffles.

There were many raffles including a Jewelry Raffle, Bucket Raffle, 50/50 Raffle, Cedar Swing Raffle, etc.

Anyone that brought 2 non perishable items or made a $5.00 donation, received a ticket for a homemade quilt drawing.  All donations were given to Kingdom Come Food Pantry.

Thanks to all who came and joined the fun and games.  Thanks also to all who volunteered their time to help make this banquet a success.
